How this site works
Gastric Sleeve Ireland is an independent guide to gastric sleeve and weight loss surgery in Ireland, and an introduction service. It's run by Bartlomiej Standa, a sole trader trading as Elevate Ireland.
What we are, and what we're not
- We're not a clinic. We don't carry out surgery, employ surgeons or give medical advice.
- We're not the HSE or any public body.
- With your consent, we pass your enquiry to one Irish clinic, and they contact you to book a consultation with a surgeon. You decide whether to go ahead.
The clinic we work with
We only pass enquiries to a clinic that meets these standards:
- its bariatric surgeons are on the Medical Council's Specialist Register in General Surgery, with experience in bariatric surgery;
- it works as a multidisciplinary team, with a dietitian and psychology support, as the HSE describes;
- it offers long-term follow-up, not just the operation;
- it gives written quotes that say what's included, before anything is booked.
Anyone can look up a doctor's registration on the Medical Council's register: see search for a registered doctor.
How we're paid
The clinic pays us for introductions. You pay nothing to us. It doesn't change what we write: our prices are typical ranges for Ireland, and our guides give the HSE, insurance and abroad options the same space as private surgery.
How we write the guides
We base our guides on official Irish sources wherever we can: the HSE, the HPRA, Revenue, the Health Insurance Authority, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the CSO. We don't publish testimonials, before and after photos, offers or deadlines, and we never promise a result. If you spot something wrong, email hello@gastricsleeve.ie and we'll fix it.
Medical advice
Nothing on this site is medical advice. Talk to your GP about your weight and health, and to a surgeon about whether surgery is right for you.
