Privacy notice
This notice explains what Gastric Sleeve Ireland (gastricsleeve.ie) does with the information you give it, and your rights. It's written for the "Am I eligible?" check, which collects health information.
Who we are
The data controller is Bartlomiej Standa, a sole trader trading as Elevate Ireland, in Ireland. Contact: hello@gastricsleeve.ie. We are an introduction service, not a clinic, and we don't give medical advice.
What we collect
- If you only use the check: nothing personal. Your height and weight stay in your browser and your BMI is worked out there. We record anonymous steps (for example "reached the result"), with a random visit number and the page, so we know how far people get. No cookies, and no name, number or health details.
- If you ask a clinic to contact you: your first name, mobile number, email (if you give it), county, the option you're interested in, the route you'd prefer, your timeframe, what you've tried before, any of the listed conditions you ticked, and your BMI band (for example "35 to 39.9"). Never your exact height or weight.
- Site statistics: Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
Why, and on what legal basis
We use your enquiry for one purpose: to pass it to one clinic so they can contact you about a consultation. The conditions you tick and your BMI band are health data, a special category of personal data under the GDPR. We only process it with your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the box before you send. Your contact details are processed on the same consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You must be 18 or over to send an enquiry.
Who receives it
One Irish clinic, whose bariatric surgeons are on the Medical Council's Specialist Register. We don't sell your details, and we don't send them to more than one clinic. Our service providers store and deliver the enquiry for us: our website host (Vercel), which keeps an encrypted copy, and the email and messaging services that notify us. They act only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry for 12 months from the date you send it, then delete it. The clinic becomes a controller of the information you give them, and their own privacy notice applies from then on.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it or delete it, object, or ask us to restrict how we use it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing hello@gastricsleeve.ie: we'll delete your enquiry and tell the clinic. Withdrawing doesn't affect what was done before.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and shows no cookie banner, because it doesn't need one: its statistics are cookieless.
